President Goodluck Jonathan cheered up Nigeria`s U-20 football team the Falconets and asked them to win the FIFA U-20 Women`s Cup for Nigeria and Africa.
After smashing North Korea 6-2 in the first semi-final the Falconets will have a concluding meeting with Germany. It will be their rematch since 2010.
Four goals were scored by Asisat Oshoala, Courtney Dike and Uchechi Sunday scored the rest two. And Koreans got their goals through the Ri Un-Sim and another one with a penalty.
President admitted in his statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, that the Falconets played excellent in their earlier matches and congratulated them for earning of 6-2 victory in semi-final game with North Korea. According to his point of view, the team should do their best while preparing for their final match with Germany. Falconets must win the under-20 Female World Cup “for Nigeria and Africa for the first time in the history of the competition”.
He also assured the football team that all Nigerians pray for their triumph.
The "Falconets" is a Nigerian women junior team. At 2010 they took a second place in a FIFA U-20 Women`s World Cup and were the runners-up to German team which won the championship.
