Meanwhile, following the suspect's arrest, it is reported that there is panic at the NAMA office and anxiety at Lagos Airport.

The latest reports by TheNation confirmed that that the suspected bomber is a disabled person. His suspicious moves and an attemt to gain entrance into facility close to Centrex unit of the NAMA led to his arrest by the private security services.

The general manager, public affairs, NAMA, Mr Supo Atobatele said in a statement: "The basic truth however, is that the said suspect was on the ground making phone calls along the airport road close to CENTREX, an annex office of NAMA when the agency’s security personnel accosted him of his presence. His incoherent explanation exposed him to the security personnel who later found on him with some devices suspected to be explosives."

The suspect has been subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

"The managing director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam in a reaction commended the security personnel for their vigilance and prompt arrest of the suspect,” the statement added.

The devices found with the suspect are being studied by the officials of the NPF Explosive Ordinance Department.

Security has been beefed up in the area of noth domestic and international terminals.

People who passed through the main entrance into the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), NAMA, including employees of these structures, or workers of other offices, were asked to present their bags for checking and were searched intensively before gaining entrance into the offices.

However, neither the commissioner of police, Airport Command (MMIA), Waheed Salau, nor officers of the ground services have commented on the development.

The dreaded Boko Haram sect have continued to carry out their incessant attacks mostly in Northern states in Nigeria, killing scores of innocent lives, injuring thousands and displacing dozens of thousands from their homes.

However, a possible Boko Haram attack recently caused pandemonium in Lagos state following an explosion in Apapa which occurred on June 25, 2014.

Although the spokesperson of the Lagos police, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the blast, but stated clearly that it was a tanker blastwith many Nigerians doubting the state's explanation.

Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan on July 31, 2014 reassured Nigerians of his commitment in the fight against Boko Haram saying: "We will defeat terror and I will lead Nigerians to achieve this."
